Triptych woodblock print in colour, each image 35.5 x 24 cm, complete 70 cm x 35.5 cm,
The right panel shows major General Oshima on horseback accompanied by officers, observing the progress of the battle on the left panel. The imperial Japanese army can be seen on the background of the right panel. The middle panel depicts the firing of a cannon, to support the advancing troops on the left panel. The bare snow-covered trees emphasize the bitter cold.
