COMMONWEALTH DEED OF TRANSFER
WARRINER (Edward, Yeoman, of Above Park, Selside, formerly Westmorland, about 4 miles West of Kendal) Deed on paper signed with his mark, in English with transcription,."To all pepelle to whome these presents shall cumm to be sene red or understoode ... especially ... in consideration of the love and nataruale affection which I doe beare toward my sonne John Warriner",  granting him and his heirs forever "my Costimary Teniment at Above Parke ... parcell of the lands of Henery Willson of Underlay gent." rented at 9s 11d per annum, "latly in the possession of John Warriner my Brother decesed ... according to the Costome theire used and alowed", with possession from the 2nd February 1656, "yealding and payying to the lord or lords theire of for the time being the yearly rent above mentioned and all other dewes sutes and services theire after to be dewe for the same", with the signatures of witnesses Robert Mowson, Thomas Warriner and Geo: Mowson, Edward's own mark is a pair of upright lines,  10th December, 1655
1 side 12" x 7½" and conjugate blank, the seal papered with a neat fold cut from the blank right margin,
(Transcription) To all pepelle to whome these presents shall cumm to be sene red or understoode I / Edward Warriner of Bove [sic, Above] Parke in Selside in the County of Westmorland / Yeoman, doe by these presents for divers good causes and considerations / me heare unto moving, But especially for and in consideration of the love / and nataruale [sic] affection which I doe beare toward my sonne John Warriner / and for his better preferment, doe by these presents Give grant Aliene / bargan and sell unto the said John my sonne and to his heres forever all that my Costimary Teniment at Above Parke aforsaid now in my / possesion parcell of the lands of Henery Willson of Underlay gent. and / of the yearly rent of nine shillings and aleven [sic] pence, To have and / to hold by the said Costimary Teniment with all the houses buldings / fences waters wayes profites and commodities what so ever to the / said teniment apertsyning or belonging which said Teniment was latly / in the possession of of John Warriner my Brother decesed and now in the / possesion of me the said Edward and all other the premisses above / mentioned or intended to be bargined and every parte theire of unto / him the said John his heirs or assignes to the only use and behoofe of / him the said John his / heres and assignes for ever according to the / Costome theire used and alowed and to enter theire untoe upon the / second day of Febuarye [sic] which shall be in the yeare of our Lord / God one thousand sixehundred fiftye and sixe yealding and / payying to the lord or lords theire of for the time being the yearly / rent above mentionen [sic] and all other dewes sutes and services theire / after to be dewe for the same In witnes where of I the said / Edward Warriner have heare unto put my hand and seale the tenth day / of December in the yeare of our Lord God / onethousand sixehundred / fiftye and fife [sic] /1665./ Sealed signed and delivered / in the presence of us videlicet / Robert Mowson/ / Thomas Warriner / Geo: Mowson / seal and mark Edward // Warriner
