The little printed "note" tipped onto the title reads "Since the issue of the Ist edition it has been possible to test this grammar in regard to its utility in Mesopotamia. The result has been to confirm the correctness of the claim made in para 4 of the preface." In the preface Major Norbury, Poona Horse, Commandant Aden Troop (Arabic Interpreter Ist Class), claims that his Grammar, unlike others in circulation, has been used and works in Aden.
