The first Estienne edition of Lucan's Pharsalia, his epic poem on the Civil War between Pompey and Caesar. It is beautifully printed in Claude Garamond's italic type designed for Robert Estienne in imitation of the Aldine italic and first used in 1543. Adams L 1575.
