Ranana is a settlement 60 km from Whanganui along the Whanganui River. It was named by the missionary Richard Taylor (1805-1873) and is a Maori transliteration of London. He named settlements along the Whanganui River Atene (Athens), Koriniti (Corinth), Hiruharama (Jerusalem) and Ranana (London), and the Wanganui suburb of Taylorville is named after him. This New Testament was printed by Harrisons in London.
